About Us
Brighter Bronchos is a project aimed to improve the mental wellbeing of students at the University of Central Oklahoma through Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) and QPR (Question Persuade Refer) trainings. By training faculty, staff, and students in the MHFA and QPR curriculums, we aim to foster a supportive environment for anyone on campus experiencing a mental health/substance use challenge and help them find a pathway to well-being. MHFA trainings focus on recognizing and responding to individuals facing mental health and/or substance use challenges. QPR focuses primarily on suicide prevention.
This program is operated by Mental Health First Aid Oklahoma, a DCCCA prevention program, in partnership with the University of Central Oklahoma and the UCO Center for Counseling & Wellbeing, and is funded in part by SAMHSA.
